Golden Globes 2011: le meglio e le peggio vestite - Golden Globes 2011: best and worst dressed

In un mare di pizzi, voulants, balze e paillettes, a colpire maggiormente quest'anno ai Golden Globes sono state, paradossalmente, le mises più minimaliste; in particolare mi riferisco a:

In a sea of laces, ruffles, frills and sequins, the most attractive looks of this year’s Golden Globes have paradoxically been the most minimalist ones; by saying this, I’m especially referring to:

- Emma Stone in Calvin Klein Collection

  Assolutamente impeccabile. L'abito è semplicemente perfetto (il taglio lo
  rende quasi una seconda pelle e il colore diviene un tuttuno con lo splendi-
  do incarnato della giovane Stone) e i gioielli (firmati Van Cleef & Arpels e
  Bulgari) e la pochette (argentata e lineare -anch'essa di Calvin Klein-) com-
  pletano divinamente il look, rendendolo al contempo fresco ed estremamente
  ricercato.

  Absolutely flawless. The dress is just perfect (its cut makes it almost a 

  second skin and its colour melts with young Stone’s gorgeous skin tone) 

  and the jewellery (designed by Van Cleef & Arpels and Bulgari) together 

  with the clean silver Calvin Klein clutch make the look divine, fresh and

  extremely refined at the same time.

- Claire Danes in Calvin Klein Collection

   Francisco Costa (direttore creativo di Calvin Klein Collection ndr) ha qui
   davvero dato il meglio di sé e da grandissima (smisurata) fan del marchio
   quale sono non posso che mettermi da parte ed osservare sognante il suo
   lavoro. Stupendo.

   Francisco Costa (creative director of Calvin Klein Collection) has given 

   here his best and as a (huge) fan of the brand as I am, I cannot do 

   anything but set myself apart and observe his amazing work. Wonderful.

- Hailee Steinfeld in Prabal Gurung

  Questa giovanissima attrice (ha solo 14 anni) è davvero una ventata di aria
  fresca: con indosso quest'incantevole vestito firmato Prabal Gurung è
  semplicemente bellissima. Al contrario di molte sue colleghe coetanee però,
  non gioca "a fare la grande", ma reinterpreta in chiave giovanile (con coda a
  lato e pochette azzurra) un vero e proprio abito da red carpet.

  This 14-year-old actress is like a breath of fresh air: with this delightful 

  Prabal Gurung dress she’s just beautiful. Unlike lots of other teenage 

  actresses, Hailee Steinfeld doesn’t want to dress like an adult, so here 

  she’s decided to reinterpret a downtown red carpet dress in a younger

  version, by having her hair styled with a simple low side ponytail and 

  using a cute light blue clutch.

Invece: BIG NO's.

On the other hand: BIG NO’s.

-  Olivia Wilde in Marchesa

   No, no, no!! Che cos'è questa massa di tulle e brillanti?! Lei è di una
   bellezza da togliere il fiato, ma è mortificata da questo vestito (che, con
   tutta probabilità, peserà più di lei)! Le avessero almeno raccolto i capelli!


  No, no, no!! What the hell is that mass of tulle and little
  sparkling things? She’s got a breathtaking beauty, but here she’s
  mortified with this gown (which, btw, will be heavier than her)!
  They could have gathered up her hair, at least!

-  Christina Aguilera in Zuhair Murad

   Christina, hai un corpo così bello, perché devi rovinare tutto?? La
   scollatura sembra stia per esplodere e la coda a sirena le mozza ter-
   ribilmente le gambe (già, come è ben noto, è alta di suo un metro e
   un mattone); per non parlare poi dell'effetto vedo non vedo che va a
   coprire (a malapena) proprio "lì". Mi spiace, ma proprio non ci siamo.


  Christina, you’ve got such a beautiful body, why do you have to 
  debase it?? The neckline looks like it’s going to explode and the 
  mermaid tail of the dress is just terrible with the “length” of your 
  legs; I don’t even want to talk about the semi-transparent effect,
  which (merely) covers “that” zone. I’m sorry (no, not really),
  but this is really a big, BIG NO.

- Eva Longoria in Zac Posen

   L'abito potrebbe anche essere carino sino alla lunghezza dei piedi: i
   restanti 2/3 metri di stoffa che puliscono il tappeto rosso sono asso-
   lutamente orribili da vedere. La prossima volta meglio chiamare un
   sarto!


  The dress could be even cute until the ground-level, but the 2/3
  meters of extra-fabric that clean the red carpet are absolutely 
  awful to see. Next time call a tailor, Eva!
