Potenza, energia, forma e colore: sono questi gli elementi caratterizzanti le foto firmate Alexandra Zaharova e Ilya Plotnikov. I due, originari di Mosca, stanno riuscendo a catalizzare l'attenzione su di sé non solo per la qualità e il talento che emerge dalle loro foto, ma anche grazie agli abiti-scultura di carta (sì, carta) da loro ideati: si tratta di vere e proprie opere di haute couture (o "papercraft couture", considerando il materiale), tanto importabili nella realtà quanto sorprendenti alla vista e perfette per la fotografia.
Sono artisti polivalenti, affascinati dallo studio e dalla manipolazione dell'immagine e abilissimi nel riuscire ad unire forma e contenuto per catturare il massimo con ogni scatto.
Power, energy, shape and colour: these are the main elements of Alexandra Zaharova e Ilya Plotnikov’s photos. The two Muscovites are succeeding in drawing attention to themselves not only because of the high quality and the talent that emerge from their works, but also thanks to their paper pieces of clothing (yes, paper pieces of clothing): I’m talking about downtown haute couture (or “papercraft couture”) pieces, which are as unwearable in real life as wonderful to look at; something just perfect for photography.
They’re polyvalent artists, fascinated by the study and the handling of the image and so good at linking the shape with the content, in order to capture the most with every single shot.
