Franca Sozzani

Una donna simbolo di intelligenza, cultura, Bellezza e grande, grandissima eleganza.
Seguo quasi con riverenza il suo blog, nel quale tratta di temi attualissimi e sempre interessanti: dalla promozione del made in Italy (quello vero) all'avversione contro la volgarità di certi calendari.
Tra tutti i suoi pregi però, ce n'è uno che mi ha fatto letteralmente innamorare di lei: il suo rifiuto verso la banalità. Qualsiasi (e quando dico qualsiasi intendo QUALSIASI) azione venga fatta da questa donna ha un senso ben preciso, profondo e voluto. Aiuta i giovani. Promuove l'artigianato. Si apre verso i suoi lettori. E fa tutto con un'eleganza innata.
Potrebbe rimanere chiusa nella sua torre d'avorio, idolatrata da veneranti discepoli; e invece no. Si tira su le maniche (di seta) e lavora (tanto e bene), si mette in gioco, provoca, rischia....e vince. E non vince perché è direttrice di Vogue Italia. Vince perché lei È Vogue Italia.

E voi, o miei amati lettori, che cosa pensate di Franca Sozzani? Siete riusciti a partecipare alla Vogue Experience (io purtroppo no, perché l'ho scoperto troppo tardi :( )? Mi piacerebbe tantissimo leggere i vostri pareri e/o esperienze!

A woman symbol of intelligence, culture, Beauty and great, amazing elegance.

I follow her blog with a lot of admiration: there she deals with the most current and interesting topics, from the promotion of “Made in Italy” to the loathing against the vulgarity of some calendars.

But there’s one specific virtue that made me literally fall in love with her: her refusal towards triviality. Everything (and when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING) that is made by her has a really precise, deep and wanted point. She helps young people. She promotes handcraftship. She opens up to her readers. And she does everything with an inborn elegance.

She could stay closed in her ivory tower, where she would be worshipped by her disciples; but she doesn’t. She rolls up her (silk) sleeves and works (a lot and really well), she puts herself in the game, she provokes, risks….and wins. And she doesn’t win because she’s the director of Vogue Italy. She wins because she IS, Vogue Italy.
